KIs (keys) to Wellness are wellness offerings designed by Ahkilah "KI" Childs that promote a long-term commitment to a healthy lifestyle and overall wellness. Ki currently provides: stretch, flexibility and fitness classes, assisted stretch, and 1 on 1 stretch guidance at Renewing Well Mind and Body Studio in Stockbridge, GA.
Ahkilah “Ki (pronounced Key)” Childs is a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, Stretch and Flexibility Coach, Nutrition Coach, and outside of fitness only a short time away from obtaining her doctorate in strategic communication (DSC). Her passion for fitness and holistic wellness began during college when she discovered the importance of eating right and working out after gaining the dreaded Freshman 15. From there, she gave birth and endured a series of occurrences that encouraged healthy weight loss habits and an overall push to stay in the best shape possible. Ki provides personal training sessions, nutrition coaching and meal plan options at Embracing Change, a holistic wellness facility, in Stockbridge, GA. Neighboring Embracing Change, is Renewing Well Mind and Body Studio. At Renewing Well Mind and Body Studio, Ki teaches recurring Stretch and Flexibility and Low-Impact Fitness classes as well as provides one-on-one assisted stretch sessions. Her classes and plans are called KIs (pronounced keys) to Wellness and she can assist individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience to achieve their goals in obtaining and maintaining those KIs.
Stay fit and active in a rhythmic and controlled way designed to promote consistency and longevity in this 45-minute KI (class). Steady is our general low-impact fitness KI that channels the same feeling obtained from a warm-up. A mixture of stretching, light strength training, mobility exercises, and light cardio designed to get your heartrate up will keep you on your toes and energized. Lose weight quickly and keep it off with exercises that are not harsh on the body. All levels are welcome. Please wear comfortable attire designed for stretching and movement.
Channel your sensual side with our spicy barre KI (class) entitled Sultry. This 45-minute KI will keep your hips circling, fingers caressing, and movement swaying. A chair will be used to balance and provide stability as we target your glutes, thighs, and core to the rhythm of carefully crafted playlists. Unwind and dance freely while you release stress and embrace a strong connection with your inner sexy. Class for 18 years or older. Designed for the woman needing an excuse to let her hair down and swing it. Please come fully clothed, but don’t shy away from one piece workout sets and yoga attire to evoke the utmost confidence.
Fertility is a sensitive subject for many women, and while trying for children may come easy to some, carrying and bearing children is not always a simple feat. Summon is a 45-minute KI (class) designed to promote fertility with low-impact exercises and stretches targeting: blood flow, pelvic muscles, core stability, lower abdomen strength, and an opportunity to become more centered and connected with the female body. Create a mind and muscle connection and summon positive vibes, good energy, and a calm spirit. Women with PCOS and other womanly challenges are also encouraged to attend. All levels are welcome. Please wear comfortable attire designed for stretching and movement.
Assisted Stretch is an opportunity to become more flexible and obtain greater mobility and range of motion when exercising or simply moving about. The trainer will first determine where muscles are tight and mobility is affected. A series of stretches performed by the trainer on the client will ensue, leaving the client feeling more relaxed, limber and ready to tackle any subsequent physical activity. This is not to be confused with a massage therapy session. While it is relaxing, assisted stretch is designed to increase motion in various areas of the body and assist with fitness goals and proper exercise form.
1 on 1 stretch guidance is the opportunity to stretch with the trainer and learn techniques for stretching out sore, tight, or tense muscles. Similar to a personal training session, a stretch will be demonstrated and then the client will proceed to imitate this stretch. These sessions are limited, but the trainee is expected to take all knowledge and stretches grasped from the session to practice on their own time. This guidance can also be done with couples.
Ki offers personal training services currently in 6-week and 12-week packages. Clients will complete a consultation and in-person check-ins with Ki, but the vast majority of the training will be done via an exercise plan at the client's gym or home. Clients are encouraged to take the classes provided by Ki at a discounted rate. If daily in-person training is your goal, Ki also has many referrals and resources for this more in-depth service. Ki offers nutrition services including but not limited to: tailored meal plans, grocery store accompaniment, virtual nutrition counseling, techniques to change the overall relationship with food and exercise and more. These services are especially great paired with a meal prep service and injections of the proper micros one may need while transitioning between dietary habits.
